Night 15 Days
Tripoli – Ghadames – Sabha – Akakuss –
Lakes – Tripoli
Day 1: Meet and transfer to the Hotel, overlooking the
Mediterranean Sea.
Day 2: : Excursion to the Roman city of Sabrata (70 km) With
Its remarkable 2nd century Colonnaded Theatre and stunning
mosaic collection. Return to Tripoli overnight
Day 3: visit the Centuries-old grain stores of Gaser Al hajj
(120km) and Nalout (150 km) where the lunch will be taken
continue to Ghadames (335 km), overnight in hotel.
Day 4: Sightseeing the unique and enchanting oasis of
Ghadames on the edge of the Sahara. Visit the old town with
its labyrinthine passages and take lunch in a richly
decorated traditional house. Late afternoon excursion to
watch the sun set over the sand dunes; on the Way, we visit
the ruins of Qaser AL-Ghoul (Castle of the Ghost), allegedly
the remains of an old Roman fort, where the local
inhabitants succumbed to a siege during the Arab conquest of
Libya in the 7th Century AD, Overnight in Hotel.
Day 5: Drive to the Berber Cabaw village to visit the
fortified grain store and library of the writer, Buruni.
Continue to the Sabha overnight camping, no one can imagine
the vastness of the desert or incredible height of the sand
dunes without visiting the south of the great Jamahiriya.
Day 6: Sabha – Germa – Al Awinatt – Akakuss, overnight
camping (tents).
Day 7/8: two days in Akakuss. The open museum of the desert
engravings and paintings in rock shelters of Akakuss tadarat
Matchandoush Mountains and wadi berguge described by some of
explores as evidence of one of the oldest civilizations on
our planet Exploring the desert also means undertaking a
journey deep into the geological history of the world,
overnight Camping (tents).
Day 9: Akakuss – Al Awinatt – Maghendosh –, overnight
camping (tents)
Day 10/11: Maghendosh – Adhan Ubari – Germa – Desert Lakes,
overnight
Day 12: Desert lakes – Sabha – Tripoli overnight.
Day 13: Full day sightseeing in Tripoli including the superb
National Museum, Green Square, Algeria Square Cathedral,
Church of Santa Maria, the 18th century British Consulate,
the 17th century French Consulate, the Arch of Marcus
Aurelius and the mosques and souks of the medina where lunch
will be take then return to the hotel overnight.
Day 14: Excursion to the magnificent Roman Site of Leptis
Magna (120km) with its theatre, Forum, Baths, Sports Ground
return to Tripoli overnight
Day 15: after break fast transfer to airport for departure
